We are now in Hong Kong on our final stretch before we come home. We had a great time in Guangzhou but are definitely ready to come home. Mikey is probably going to be in for quite a surprise when the breakfast buffets and turn down service come to a screeching halt.
We spent the day with Lily. She showed us around Hong Kong and then we took her to a very famers {yes, I meant to write famers} American restaurant – OUTBACK! HA! We had a bloomin onion and a cheeseburger. It was like being home (except for the 7 million people). We went to the Hong Kong walk of fame and saw lots of famers movie star handprints.
It was hard to say goodbye to my dear friend. When we are together it is like we have never been apart – but then too soon we have to say goodbye. I am blessed that I have been able to see her twice in the last year. We had a lot of laughs and she was a very gracious host. She and Rebecca made us feel like we were the most important family in the whole world. For those of you that have adopted – you know that this is par for the course for any family and not just us.
Here a few pictures from the past couple of days. Sorry I haven’t been as faithful in the blogging – we had minimal internet and a six year old boy that doesn’t speak English! Just so you all don’t think this has been a complete walk in the park – let me make it known that we have had our share of communication struggles! This boy can throw a tantrum with the best of them. It has been easier the last few days – but we have had a couple of days that have tested every fiber of patience that we have had. His independence crashed head on with his new life. He wasn’t wanting to give up being able to do whatever he wanted – whenever he wanted. I think we have nipped this in the bud, but I suppose the true test will be at home.
Here are a few pics from the past couple of days. I will see if I can get another video or two up for you too.
